Seamless Gutter Installation in Brentwood, CA

Replacing worn gutters or adding them to a home that has none: here is what seamless gutters are, the choices you will be asked to make, and what to get in writing before work starts.

Long seamless gutter run on a single-story home with a corner and downspout

What “seamless” means

Seamless gutters are formed on site by a machine from a flat roll of material, so a straight run is one continuous piece rather than short sections joined together (LeafFilter, a gutter-guard manufacturer). Fewer seams means fewer places to leak, but corners, end caps and downspout outlets are still joined, and they still need periodic cleaning. Seamless vs sectional compared.

Choices you will be asked to make

Size: 5-inch or 6-inch

Five-inch K-style is the common standard; 6-inch moves more water and is used on larger roofs, steeper pitches and complex roof shapes (Angi). HomeGuide puts the 6-inch upgrade at about $1–$2+ per linear foot (HomeGuide).

Profile: K-style or half-round

K-style has a flat back and decorative front and is the most common on homes. Half-round is a rounded trough, more often chosen for traditional looks and usually priced higher.

Material

Aluminum is the common choice. Angi lists aluminum at $4–$9+ per foot for material, vinyl $3–$5+, galvanized steel $8–$10+ and copper $15–$25+ (Angi). Lifespans vary: vinyl roughly 15–20 years, aluminum and steel 20–30, copper far longer.

Color and downspouts

Aluminum comes in a range of baked-on colors. If you are in an HOA, check its exterior color rules before ordering. Ask where each downspout will discharge and whether extensions are included.

What it costs

Angi puts the average seamless installation at $900–$1,400+, with aluminum seamless at $9–$13+ per linear foot; HomeGuide lists $900–$3,000+ installed on average. Two-story homes cost more per foot (HomeGuide). See the full cost guide.

Old gutters coming off? Removal is often priced separately; HomeGuide lists about $50–$200+. Ask whether it is included.

Seamless gutter questions

What are the main types of gutters?

Homes here mostly use K-style gutters, which have a flat back and a decorative front, or half-round gutters, which are a rounded trough. Gutters are also chosen by size (5 or 6 inch) and material (aluminum is common; vinyl, steel and copper are alternatives). Seamless describes how a run is formed, not a separate shape.

How much does seamless gutter installation cost?

Published national figures vary widely: seamless installation is reported from roughly $650 to $3,000 or more for a job, and about $9–$13+ per linear foot for aluminum seamless in one guide. Footage, material, roof height and complexity all move the price; a measured written quote sets it.

Should I choose 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?

Angi says 5-inch K-style gutters suit most roofs and 6-inch is used on larger roofs, steeper pitches and complex roof shapes. HomeGuide lists 6-inch as adding about $1–$2+ per linear foot. Ask the installer to explain the choice for your roof.

How long do seamless gutters last?

Angi says aluminum gutters can last up to about 30 years with proper care and are typically replaced around 20 years. This Old House lists seamless at 20–30 years. Material, installation quality and maintenance all matter.

How many downspouts will I need?

Angi's sizing guide suggests roughly one downspout for every 25–35 linear feet of gutter, with a maximum spacing of about 40 feet. Heavy rain, steeper roofs and complex layouts favor more or larger downspouts.
